Currently, I am working on the development of fertilizers that take into account both the soil and socio-economic characteristics of tropical countries. I have a broad approach that makes use of: i) traditional tools of materials science (e.g., leaching experiments), ii) advanced materials processing techniques and characterizations (e.g., hydrothermal treatment followed by analysis with XRD, XPS, TEM, SEM, etc.) and iii) microfluidics.
